About PETRAD AID

A humanitarian and development organization serving vulnerable communities across Kenya through practical, community-centered action since 2018.

Who We Are

The People Transformation and
Development Aid (PETRAD AID)

PETRAD AID was founded in 2018 in Nairobi, Kenya, with a clear purpose: to serve the most vulnerable members of our communities — widows, youth, children, women, people with disabilities, and marginalized households facing poverty, exclusion, and rights violations.

We operate through seven integrated programme areas spanning livelihood and economic inclusion, peace building, human rights and legal aid, water and sanitation, health and nutrition, education, and emergency relief. Our work is grounded in a MEAL accountability framework and a Kaizen approach to continuous improvement.

PETRAD AID is headquartered in Kibra, Nairobi — one of the most densely populated urban areas in East Africa — where the organization works directly alongside the communities it serves.

Our Foundation

Mission, Vision & Core Values

Three pillars that guide every decision, programme, and community engagement across PETRAD AID.

Our Mission

Transforming Lives with Dignity

To provide practical, community-centered humanitarian and development services that empower vulnerable individuals and communities — including widows, youth, children, and marginalized groups — to overcome poverty, exclusion, and rights violations through dignity, resilience, and sustainable livelihoods.

Our Vision

A Dignified, Peaceful & Inclusive Society

A Kenya where every individual — regardless of background, status, or circumstance — lives with dignity, participates fully in their community, and has access to the support, rights, and opportunities they need to thrive.

Our Values

What We Stand For

Dignity, servant leadership, community participation, accountability, transparency, inclusivity, and continuous improvement (Kaizen). Every programme we deliver, every partnership we build, and every community conversation we hold is guided by these principles.

What We Do

Our Programme Areas

Seven integrated thematic areas responding to the full spectrum of humanitarian and development needs across Kenya.

Our Approach

Community-Centered, Accountable, and Continuously Improving

PETRAD AID's approach is built on three foundations: community participation, MEAL accountability, and the Kaizen philosophy of continuous improvement. We don't just deliver services — we co-design programmes with the communities we serve.

Our MEAL framework (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning) ensures every programme is tracked, measured, and improved based on evidence and community feedback.

How We Work

  • Community-led programme design and delivery
  • MEAL accountability framework at every stage
  • Kaizen approach to continuous improvement
  • Integrated response across all thematic areas
  • Prioritization of widows and most vulnerable
  • Partnerships with local leaders and stakeholders
  • Transparent reporting and evidence-based learning

"Transforming Lives with Dignity and Hope — one community, one household, one person at a time."
